Off one of those random interior highways that seclude many a great Ibiza restaurant, La Bella Ibiza appears after a short drive from the main town and to a grand entrance flanked by a serine garden and double-wide doors that rise 10-feet. Inside, a grand illusion of all-white architecture mixed with bohemian decor contains a champagne lounge, formal dining room and expansive terrace that's one of the most beautiful in Ibiza. Like a Francophilic version of KM5 but with far better food, the space at times feels a bit over the top with its elaborate tabletops, ornate chandeliers with crystal bedazzling and gold-stripped fireplaces that do happen come in handy during colder shoulder month. But on a hot summer night or perfect full moon, few Ibiza restaurants offer as much wow-factor.
The Food
Often to the backbeat of live music or house DJs, an April-October menu of truly exquisite French cuisine unfolds with appetizers like salmon tartare, scallop carpaccio and fresh salads from locally sourced Ibiza farms. Main course is a series of slow-roasted specialties like a delicate fillet mignon with spicy rub and lamb shoulder that’s cooked fro 9-hours to a candy-like perfection. Behind the kitchen are local chefs, many of whom have been a fixture for over a decade offering one of Ibiza’s best dinners in a setting that couldn’t be more fun.
